NUTRITECH Programme – żywienie w świetle wyzwań poprawy dobrostanu społeczeństwa oraz zmian klimatu.
The project „GutRelief – Funkcjonalne produkty roślinne z mikroenkapsulowanymi substancjami wspomagającymi terapię SIBO i IBS” (GutRelief – functional plant-based products with microencapsulated substances supporting SIBO and IBS therapy) aims to develop an innovative functional food product: a fermented plant-based drink enriched with microencapsulated bioactive substances such as L-glutamine, sodium butyrate and berberine. The product is intended for people struggling with disorders of the gut–brain axis, in particular irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
The project responds to growing market demand for functional food that supports gut health and contributes to the goals of the NUTRITECH programme concerning the development of food with a documented beneficial effect on human health.
The outcome of the project will be a composition and a manufacturing technology for a comprehensive dietary product with the potential to actively support the regeneration of the intestinal epithelium, reduce inflammation and/or alleviate intestinal symptoms.
The project assumes the achievement of specific technological and scientific results, including: developing an innovative recipe for a fermented plant-based product, developing a technology for microencapsulating active substances, confirming the therapeutic effect of the product on cell models in vitro, and ultimately obtaining a product ready for implementation that will be unique on both the Polish and international markets.
